Is TomKat on the Prowl for a Home in the Area?

WASHINGTON - A famous Hollywood couple could soon be relocating to our area.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are apparently finalizing a deal to purchase a $22 million home in Upperville, Va, the Washington Examiner reports.

TomKat's potential new home sits on 1,100-acres in Fauquier County and includes a variety of barns, ancillary residences, seven ponds, a training track, orchard and formal gardens, according to the realty listing.

The real estate company will only say the property is under contract, but is not identifying the buyers.

Last month, TomKat made a surprise appearance at the Redskins season opener as VIP guests of Cruise's new business partner, Redskins owner Dan Snyder.

If the couple does decide to buy the property, they won't be the first famous owners.

The estate was originally owned by the family of famous Washington-based landscape painter and Civil War veteran Lucien Whiting Powell.
