Local Postal Employees Suspended

February 10, 2006 - 3:24pm
WASHINGTON -- Several postal workers in the Washington area have been suspended without pay as a Federal investigation is underway.

The Office of Inspector General for the United States Post office is investigating a number of postal employees -- including letter carriers -- at the Friendship Heights post office for unethical behavior.

A spokesperson for the postal service tells WTOP as many as fifteen employees were placed on emergency suspension last Wednesday.

More information will be made public in a week.
