Services Scheduled for Teen Killed After Football Game

September 27, 2005 - 1:06pm
ROCKVILLE, Md. - A Thursday night viewing followed by a Friday morning funeral are scheduled for the teen stabbed to death after a high school football game.

Services for Kanisha Neal will take place at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Rockville.

The 15-year-old was killed outside Blake High School last Friday night, allegedly by another girl who's also 15.

Authorities believe the dispute stems from an earlier incident in which the suspect spit on Neal's sister at another game.

Montgomery County police said Tuesday that the autopsy results show Neal was killed by a stab wound, and that there's no evidence that she'd been run over by a car, as had been earlier claimed by a witness.

A 15-year-old Sherwood High School student is in custody and charged with second-degree murder in the death of Neal.

School officials are currently meeting to decide how to better protect students at football games, including moving the games to Saturday mornings.
