by Carl Lukat @ Loudoun Times-Mirror Loudoun Valley High School has named Danny McGrath as its next head football coach. McGrath, a captain of the Virginia Tech football team in 2006, takes over for Bruce Sheppard, who resigned in May after six seasons for family reasons.

McGrath served as a junior varsity, strength and conditioning and offensive line coach at Park View last season. He also coached the Patriots' boys lacrosse team. McGrath was a three-sport standout (football, baseball and wrestling) at Herndon High School before starting 20 games as a scholarship offensive lineman for Virginia Tech. He also received numerous academic awards.

McGrath, who lives in Lovettsville, is “excited and proud to be part of Loudoun Valley High School and its community.”
