VIENNA, Va. -- The cause of death of 17-year-old VCU student Taylor Behl may never be determined.

An attorney representing the Behl family said her body was so decomposed by the time it was found that it will be difficult to come up with a cause of death.

Police found the Vienna teenager's remains in Mathews County, Virginia, about a month after the girl disappeared.

Amateur photographer Ben Fawley, a person of interest in the case, told police Behl died accidentally when he restricted her breathing during an intimate encounter on Sept. 6.

Richmond Times Dispatch cited police sources as saying Fawley admitted to panicking after the girl's death, placing her body in a ravine on a property that lies next to one owned by his ex-girlfriend's family.

Fawley is not an official suspect in the case.
