The people who brought you turkey and gravy soda are now selling some spooky sodas for Halloween.
Your choices include candy corn soda and caramel apple soda. They're sold in 8-ounce cans that are designed to be as scary as the flavors.
As a public service, WTOP Radio had some people do an informal taste test. Not surprisingly, candy corn soda was greeted with some skepticism. Its Day-Glo yellow color raised some eyebrows -- as did its taste.
The tasters found it overly sweet, with some comparing it to drinking syrup. Caramel apple soda received slightly higher marks -- it was likened to carbonated apple cider. But some tasters found the aftertaste a bit much.
Also sipped by the brave group were Scary Berry Lemonade and Strawberry Slime. Both did better with the tasters, who were amused by the blue color of the lemonade.
The creator of these creepy beverages is Jones Soda, which has a reputation for turning out attention-getting products. Turkey and gravy soda was introduced before Thanksgiving two years ago. And, yes, that's what it really tastes like.
The latest sodas are being sold in the candy aisles at Target stores.
And you thought your kids were only going to want to come home with a stash of snack-size candy bars this Halloween.
