Where Are Those Speed and Red Light Cameras?

February 21, 2008 - 12:23pm
Kristi King, WTOP Radio

WASHINGTON - You may know where a few traffic cameras are in the Washington area. Now there's an easy way to find out where the automated enforcement is in place -- not just here -- but across the country.

Photoenforced.com is a database of red light camera and speed camera locations and fines. The Web site relies on users to submit where cameras have been installed.

There now are entries covering metro areas from the nation's capital to California. The site says its database consists of almost 2,200 automated traffic enforcement locations and is growing every day.

Because the site relies on user entries, it is far from comprehensive.

The Photoenforced list for the D.C. area for example has 18 entries, but other sites detailing traffic enforcement camera locations in D.C. and Montgomery County, Md. show the area, in fact, has many more.
