Chantilly High Teacher Arrested For Sex Crimes

A man who is a teacher and coach at Chantilly High School has been charged with attempted indecent liberties with a minor and using a computer to solicit sex with a minor.

Arlington County detectives arrested Matthew McGuire, 29, on Jan. 9 at his Alexandria home, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

A detective assigned to the regions' Internet Crimes Against Children task force started investigating McGuire and his activities online several months ago, police said. McGuire allegedly made contact with someone he thought was a juvenile and engaged in sexually explicit communications that resulted in the charges against him.

Detectives are investigating whether McGuire, who is being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Center, had inappropriate contact with other children, according to police.
