TYSONS CORNER, Va. - Police used pepper balls to contain a crowd waiting for the Circuit City at Tysons Corner Mall to open Friday morning.

The crowd of 200 at the store on Chain Bridge Road was waiting in line for the new Playstation3.

Here's what Fairfax County Police say happened:

Officers were at the store for crowd control. At 5:45 a.m. they were trying to get people to be orderly before the store's doors opened at 6 a.m.

Fairfax County Police spokesman Rich Perez says the crowd started to rush toward the officers. People also were starting to break into line.

Twice officers verbally warned the crowd, then an officer shot a pepper ball at the ground. A pepper ball releases pepper spray once it hits the ground.

When the crowd didn't settle down, an officer shot a second pepper ball shot at the ground.

One person complained of shortness of breath and was taken to the hospital for observation.

Police say the crowd then disbursed and went into the mall where security asked for more help with crowd control. One juvenile refused to comply with police and was issued a citation.
