No shoppers: Malls scale back hours

WASHINGTON -- With nobody shopping and more stores are vacant, three area shopping centers will scale back their hours starting next week.

Westfield Montgomery Shopping Center, Westfield Wheaton Shopping Center and Westfield Annapolis Mall will open a half hour later and close a half hour earlier.

The new weekday hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

On Saturdays, the shopping centers will open at 10 a.m. but close a half hour earlier at 9 p.m. Sunday hours will stay the same.
