The Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID) program at Falls Church High School is one of five programs across the nation and the only one in Virginia selected to be a Schoolwide Superstar by AVID.
The AVID elective offers higher-level thinking skills, strategies for school success, test preparation, college and career exploration, oral language and speaking skills, and research skills. Students are also offered tutorials in collaborative study, higher-level questioning, problem solving and project planning. They are also exposed to guest speakers, field experiences, thinking games and motivational activities.
