Brian van de Graaff forecasts the weather bright and early every Tuesday through Friday with Mike and Bruce.

In addition to his radio duties, Brian forecasts the weather for ABC 7's Good Morning Washington and ABC 7 News at Noon. Brian has earned the American Meteorological Society's prestigious Seal of Approval for television weathercasting.

Brian has been part of the Storm Watch 7 Team since May 2000 when he joined ABC 7 News as Doug Hill's weather producer, a position he previously held across town at WUSA-TV9. Brian has worked in cities small and large from Salisbury, Md. and Richmond, Va. to New York City.

Brian was born in Arlington, but grew up in the rural Virginia communities of Culpeper and Madison. A graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, he jumped right into the business shadowing his mentor, Doug Hill.

"It was not only my studies, but my one-on-one attention from Doug that helped me hone my forecasting skills."

Brian can often be seen crisscrosses the region in Storm Chaser 7, a brightly painted vehicle outfitted with top quality weather instruments, which are excellent tools to teach kids about weather and weather safety.

An Eagle Scout, Brian has hiked and backpacked throughout the U.S. from the Appalachian Trail in the East to the Grand Canyon in the West and points in between. Travel is also a favorite hobby of his as he has ventured across the U.S. and the globe, the farthest journey thus far being Australia.

Brian, his wife Kristen and their new baby boy live in Fairfax, Virginia.
